Having been married to a Swede for 7 years, though not living in Sweden, I always had the aspiration of learning and speaking the language fluently. That desire has never been a real project though, more like something that ever so often crosses my mind and I end up thinking "someday... maybe...".
Being now on the verge of turning 30 y.o., and seriously wondering where the last decade went, I've decided that it's about time to put my hands on many of those "somedays... maybes..." on my mental to-do list. As almost any self-help book would tell you, a public commitment helps you stay on track and keep going - so I'm now seriously hoping they're all right!
Though being able to read, write and speak Swedish is the main goal for this coming year, I'm intending on going through a bit of everything Swedish... for what's the use of knowing a language if you don't allow yourself to sink into its culture?
So...
Mission 1: Learn Swedish!
Time frame: 10-05-10 to 11-05-11 - 367 days!
